Information on website accessibility for people with disabilities
Charitable organization “International Charitable Foundation “Military Veterans for Peace"" — a fund of competent assistance to war veterans and their family members. Since 2014, our key goal is to provide war veterans and their family members with adequate conditions for their livelihood and to promote the formation of a respectful attitude towards them in society. We, in turn, want to make the site of our foundation accessible to all, without exception, population groups. We want each of us to contribute to our victory. That is why, during the development of this site, we made significant efforts to ensure that it meets international accessibility standards. The site was developed taking into account the requirements and recommendations specified in the document Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and on which state accessibility standards in the United States of America and European countries are based. WCAG collects criteria and recommendations that help make a website convenient and accessible for people with disabilities. In the process of developing the site, we followed the accessibility requirements of A and AA levels. Satisfying these criteria is evidence that the site largely meets the accessibility requirements used by world practice. We have been successful in this process and have fully or partially met the requirements of most of these criteria. The process of implementing accessibility on the website is ongoing. Below are the identified difficulties that our team is working on. Thank you for your understanding.
UNAVAILABLE ELEMENTS.
- The reporting page is not accessible for keyboard and screen reader users, but changes are planned to the page to improve accessibility.
- It is not possible to filter materials by date due to the unavailable calendar on the Materials page
PARTIALLY AVAILABLE ITEMS.
- Video content that is automatically pulled from YouTube on some article pages does not have audio description for the visually impaired, and some of the video content does not have subtitles. We are currently actively working on improving the accessibility of such content.
- Some links in the materials are not sufficiently informative due to their description. We are currently doing our best to fix this and make the link descriptions more informative.
- Alternative texts to some images are omitted or contain incorrect information.
- On individual pages, we improve the structure of the headings.
- The Materials page and several others have elements or texts that need to be contrasted with the background.
- Third-party payment solutions also have minor availability defects, we have notified the payment system companies about them, but unfortunately we are not responsible for their availability.
